Jewellery Art Déco and Avantgarde at the Museum of Decorative Arts, Paris

The Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris is showing an exhibition of Art Déco and Avantgarde jewellery by the metalsmith Jean Després (1889-1980) until the 12th July.  The shown pieces were inspired by Cubism as well as machinery. Part of the exhibition is also jewellery by other famous designers from this period .

They show some jewellery from the exhibition at their website and most of the pieces look like timeless treasures for me. Especially the machinery inspired jewellery could also be created by a contemporary designer. I would really love to go there, but I will be in Paris at the end of July- it’s too bad!
