Berlinerklamotten, a store in Berlin

During my vistit in Berlin I discovered the store “Berlinerklamotten” (Klamotten= rags) in Berlin Mitte, Hackesche Höfe (Hof 3). They sell clothes made by local designers on two floors and have really a nice, wide range. But Berlinerklamotten is more than a store – it is a platform for fashion designers in Berlin. Besides the store they promote over 100 local designers on their website with a portfolio, shopadress and contact information. Also, Berliner Klamotten initiated “Berlin fashion network” to connect fashion designers, fashion people etc.

It’s really worth visiting their store, especially if there is not enough time to go to several small shops. The design ranges from street fashion to unusual, a little avantegardistic creations. The prices are ok – especially if one considers that this is not a mainstream store.

Of course it was really hard to decide what to try on, in the end I chose two dresses: one by Butterflysoulfire and one by Anne Schmuhl. I’ve only made a picture of the hanging clothes- I was not in the mood for a picture of me in the dresses, sorry!

Dress by Butterflysoulfire, the skirt is made of a knitted fabric, the top of sheer satin which results in an interesting contrast. The neckline of the back is just stunning! And the colour combination is also great!! Here is a picture from their portfolio where you can see the same dress in a creme colour. The whole S/S 09 lookbook is available on their website. It’s really worth to have a look – a great mixture of fashion and art.

This is the dress by Anne Schmuhl, made of a light cotton satin with a matt surface. I was directly attracted by the unusual cut. It’s very flattering but still gives a certain shape. There was also a small fabric belt to adjust the fit – a very playful dress!

Anne Schmuhl is also selling her clothes online. Have a look – there are more original designs available. For example this scarf:
